Man Severely Hurt When Crushed Under Truck’s Steel Tray
Severe injuries to the chest and back were suffered by Mr E. Webster, Taneatua, when a steel tip tray fell on him and crushed him against the steel chassis of a truck on which he was working at Edgecumbe on Wednesday He was attended by members of the St John Ambulance Brigade from Whakatane and Edgecumbe and Dr A. W. F. Cole, who ordered him to the Whakatane District Hospital. His condition today was reported to be Very satisfactory.
At the time of the. accident Mr Webster was under the tray, which was held aloft by wooden blocks. These slipped and the tray came crashing down on top of him. He had recently purchased the truck.
