Attractive Lines Sold Under Hammer At Annual Lamb Sale

Some attractive lines which showed quality and breeding were entered in the annual lamb sale of the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co. Ltd., at Te Puke. The yarding of 5000 consisted mostly of Romney ewe and wether lambs from Bay of Plenty farmers. Competition was keen throughout the sale, especially for top lines, the complete offering being sold under the hammer. Quotations: —

Top ewe lambs, 36s 6d to 38s; medium ewe lambs, 34s to 35s 9d; small ewe lambs, 24s to 30s; top wether lambs, 25s to 28s 3d; medium wether lambs, 22s to 24s 6d; small wether lambs, 17s to 20s; shorn b/f lambs, 19s to 21s 9d; other b/f lambs, 15s 6d to 18s 6d; cull lambs, 11s to 14s.
