Partly-Built Haystack Burned

A partly-built haystack on Mr R. Sinclair’s farm at Nukuhou North was burned. Men were working building the stack, when smoke and flames were noticed at the bottom of it. An attempt to fork the burn-' ing hay away from the stack failed.. The men had to hurry off th? stack on account of the flames. The stacker pole was broken in hurried efforts to remove it to safety.

Mr Sinclair then commenced building another stack in a nearby paddock, but heavy rain stopped work on it.
