Two thousand visitors from districts as far away as Whangarei and Hawke’s Bay as well as Rotorua and the Urewera are among those expected to attend the celebrations of the 600th anniversary of the arrival of the Maoris to New Zealand at Te Kaha tomorrow. Arrangements to receive this huge crowd have been going on all this week under the supervision of Sir Apirana Ngata and have now been almost completed.

The celebrations are to be held on the marae of the Te Kaha Pa and visitors will include Princess Te Puea, the Right Rev. F. A. Bennett, Bishop of Aotearoa, the Hon. W. and Mrs Sullivan, and Sir Howard and Lady Kippenberger. Large stocks of food have been Stored to feed the huge crowd during the week-end and the gathering is expected to be the largest held in this district for some years. This celebration is the first of many that will be held in different parts of New Zealand this year. '
