Pony Club Plans Week-end Trek

On Wednesday night the committee of the Whakatane branch of the District Pony Club met to further arrangements for the proposed trek during the Anniversary Day weekend next week. Final arrangements will be made at a rally at the Domain on Sunday afternoon. Plans have been made on the basis of an estimated attendance of at least 30 members of the Whakatane Branch (including adults in charge of the camp), but it is hoped some members of the country branches will be able to attend. The idea is to ride to the camp site (which is not yet finally selected, but which will be within a radius of 20 miles of Whakatane) on the Saturday and come back on Monday.
