Petrol To Burn
It is unbelievable that New Zealand produced petrol of excellent quality is unsaleable and may have to be disposed of by burning. Petrol restrictions, which grind down the pleasure of so many motorists, are jibed at by the situation in New Plymouth where the N.Z. Oil Refineries Ltd. are producing 10,000 gallons monthly and could double the quantity, but can sell only 2,000 gallons per month. The company can secure neither bowser nor storage. Whilst we moan for dollars to spend here, dollars could be saved by using the local supply cf petrol. —“N.Z.< Financial Times.”
