ROTORUA TEAMS TO PLAY HERE
Two Rotorua representative cricket teams are to meet Whakatane reps here on January 14, and the main fixture will probably be the elimination match between the two Associations for the Attrill Cup. Following are the two Rotorua teams picked by the sole selector, Mr Godsalve: — ’
A team: W. Higgins (Capt), M. Dickson, H. Martin, R. Dixon, E. Andrews, R. Hart, E. Wylie, R. Spedding, E. Hobbs, D. McKenzie, W. Costello and S. Burgham (12th man). B team: P. Lyle (Capt), D. Garner, T. Costello, L. Mackie, G. Hawker, P. Ludgate, R. Crawford, A'. McKinnon, D. Guptill, P. Tapsell, B. Inkster and Alufurai (12th man).
REPRESENTATIVE TRIAL MATCH
In the rep. trial match at W'hakatane to pick the Attrill Cup team, Possibles made 345 for 9, de-.:lared, and Probables 191 in the first innings. Possibles, J. B. Rivett 81 retired, T. Brown 63 retired, W. D. Rivett 49, S. Shapley 40, K. Tunnicliffe 26, J. Ruff 21 retired; Green 1 for 30, Paton 2 for 99. Probables, F. Paton 100, C. McConnell 46, A. Green 14; Shapley 4 for 34, Brown 2 for 40.
