Stolen Wallet Found After 20 Years

After almost 20 years a wallet stolen during a Christmas holiday dance at New Plymouth in 1929 was returned to its owner. He is Mr K. Parkin, Fitzroy. The wallet was discovered tucked underneath a floorboard by a workman making alterations to the Trades Hall. When it was taken the wallet contained money, miscellaneous papers and a smill silver penknife. The thief had evidently taken the money, and hidden the remainder in a nook beneath the floor. When discovered, the leather had rotted and the blade of the knife was rusted, but the workmen were able to read the name of the bwner on a driving licence.
