Massey College Staff Changes
Several changes in the lecturing staff of Massey Agricultural College take effect at the start of this year.
Mr J. D. Sargent, M.Sc., lecturer in dairying and dairy bacteriology at the College, has been appointed head of the department of agricultural microbiology, which position has been rendered vacant by the retirement of Mr R. Waters.
Mr H. T. Wenham, B.Sc., has been appointed to the position of lecturer in the department of agricultural microbiology. Mr Wenham specialised in botany for his B.Sc. degree and later carried out further studies in advanced botany and plant pathology. During the last 12 months he has acted as temporary lecturer in agricultural microbiology at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, during the absence overseas of Dr I. D. Blair, and will continue in that position until Dr Blair’s return to the Dominion early this year. Mr A. Stewart, M.Agr.Sc.l lecturer in dairy husbandry, who has been carrying out advanced study in animal breeding at Oxford University / for the last three years while taking advantage of a Rhodes Scholarship, is now on his return to New Zealand and will resume at the College early in February. Mr A. R. Bergstrom, M.Com., temporary assistant lecturer in economics, has resigned to take up an appointment on the permanent staff of Auckland University College. Mr A. C. Callaway, M.Com., lecturer in agricultural ■' economics, who left New Zealand two years ago for post-graduate study at Cambridge University, has resigned from the College staff to pursue further post-graduate studies at the Institute of Agricultural Economics, Oxford University.
