GOOD AGAIN SINGLES CHAMPION

The Whakatane Bowling Club’s Singles Championships have concluded, C. W. Good again lifting the honour with a comfortable win over H. A. Burgess in. the final game. Good, who has been club champion four out of the last five years, again well deserved his win this year, after losing one life in the second round of the championships. The Smith Stars changed hands when the holders, 'S. McKenzie, G. Oswald, E. Bullot and H. Pearson were defeated by a comfortable margin by a team skipped by L. Berg. Details: —

Other games: McDonald, Compton, Anderson 23 v Morgan, Rev. Rankin, Bell, Pearson Ilf Dawson, Campbell, Coates 23 v Cook, Hutchinson, Drube 19; Smart, Sims, Hovpt 20 v Richardson, Grant, Smoljan 19. On Boxing Day the club held a threes tournament which was won by P. Smoljan, J. Hutchinson and W. Compton. The full rinks tournament held the following day, was won by R. Murphy, C. Pearson, J. Graham, P. Breckon.
