Matata W.I. Holds Enjoyable Children’s Christmas Party

The December meeting of the Matata W.I. took the form of an enjoyable Christmas party for the children and was held at the residence of Mrs H. Withy, Awakaponga. t Fruit salad, jellies, ice cream, sandwiches and party cakes were appreciated by adults and children alike, while juicy plums and bags of sweets were distributed to the children. Being Grandmothers’ Day each grandmother was presented with an exceptionally “sweet” posy. Not on a reindeer, and not on a sledge, but comfortably seated on a lorry, Mrs Christmas arrived and soon gave each child a present. There was also an exchange of Christmas presents among the members during the afternoon.
