Night On The River
Because of the lack of water in the Whakatane River on Wednesday night the coastal vessel, m.v. Clansman, was unable to berth in the harbour and spent the ni Sht anchored in the channel just inside the bar. From the bar to the wharves insufficient water would not allow the vessel to proceed very far but she was able to berth on the high tide early yesterday morning.
