Fertiliser Works Needs Consideration

Before any fertiliser works was established in the Bay of Plenty the whole question would have to be carefully considered said the chairman of the Bay of Plenty SubProvince of Auckland Federated Farmers, Mr R. W. Dunning, /Otakiri, at a meeting at Tauranga. As an alternative to the works he suggested a system of supply dumps throughout the Bay of Plenty, which could built up by the works in other centres during the slack season. Farmers would then be able to obtain fertiliser from thfese supply points as they required it. It was decided to investigate the possibilities of this scheme and to inquire into the merits and costs of establishing a fertiliser works in the Bay of Plenty.
