Christmas Family Evening At Otakiri

A very happy crowd of children, joined with the young folk an)d parents at a family evening sponsored by the Otakiri Women’s Institute, a Christmas tree took pride of place on the stage, and gay party games kept the children occupied. In one game, a music parcel, each child received a gift from the parcel, even to the tiny tots. Beverley King, Bruce Woods, Kathleen Whalley, Wayne Pryor, Alan Woodberry, Terry Steenson and many others joined in to receive their share of the parcel. The children’s monte carlo was won by Dawn Peck and Ann Withy; balloons and sweets were then distributed from the Christmas tree, while soft drinks and ice creams were handed round at intervals. Mrs J. A. Armstrong capably handled the music for the evening, assisted by Mr Ted Briggs. Supper was served, and in the dancing the winner’s of the adults Monte Carlo were Miss Beverley Steenson and Mr John Mullins.
