Galatea W.I. Holds Children’s Party

A very successful Christmas treat was given the/children of Galatea by the Galatea Women’s Institute. A tasty lunch was served to approximately 140 children, who afterwards played games until the arrival of Santa Claus* attended by two fairies, Merle Lee and Carol Gear, when each child was presented with a gift, sweets and balloons.

■When the children’s party was concluded, the president of the Institute, Mrs Nicholls, thanked all those who had helped make the day such a success. A presentation was then made to Mrs C. Heard, who is one of the first members, and is now leaving the district to reside at Tauranga.
