WHAKATANE CLUB HOLDS OUTDOOR SHOOT
Some very good scores were recorded at the ’first outdoor §hoot held by the Whakatane Legion Miniature Rifle Club on Sunday. A small, but enthusiastic gathering decided that the outdoor shooting was ahead of indoors, and it was planned to hold another shoot in a fortnight. It is proposed to make this a special Christmas picnic shoot.
Officers of the club emphasise the better conditions for teaching .beginners, on the outdoor range, and are prepared to coach learners, either before or after the regular shoots. ’ •.
Scores: C. Bathe 95, W. Tyssen 92, A. Bradshaw 90, A. Judd 86, Miss A. Bathe 85, R. Whittaker' 85, R. Bell 82, J. Jordon 82, Mrs E. Bathe 79, Dr E. G. Hefford 74, Miss i , D. Tyssen 74, W. Addison 59. A. Bradshaw won the silver teaspoon and Miss A. Bathe the pennant. W. Tyssen won the own start sweepstake .
