SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES The intermediate singles championships were advanced another couple" of rounds on Saturday afternoon at the Whakatane Bowling Club’s greens. Most of the games were evenly contested, and those who still remain in the series should provide some good bowling when they continue on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Those left in are: Two Lifers, G. Howat, W. Smith; One lifers, F. Cook, C. Butler, R. Stewart, J. Rutherford, W. Compton.

The Smith Stars games continued on Saturday afternoon and resulted in a win for S. McKenzie’s team over a team that has held the Stars since , last season. Smoljan’s team in losing the. game were by no means disgraced by the score put up against them as both teams were playing excellent bowls. Result:— H. Morgan, R. Wilson, G. Oswald, S. McKenzie 31, J.
