Edgecumbe ParentParent Association

A very successful and interesting evening was held at the Edgecumbe School on Thursday when the ) Parent-Teacher Association held its November meeting. The films on South Africa proved intensely interesting, depicting the life and habits of the natives, who appeared well cared for with edu« eatibnal and medicinal facilities. The plant and animal life was attractively portrayed, the animals seen wandering at large in their natural surroundings, creating great interest. A filrri of New Zealand was also shown —a very creditable achievement in photography on the part of Mr Fleming. Not the least enjoyable feature of the evening was a community sing, popular hits being played by Mr Fleming at the piano. To the amazement and delight of the audience, the singing was recorded and played back by the machine used for the films.

A tasty supper amply provided by women members rounded off a delightful evening that will live long in the minds of the audience, especially the senior pupils of the school, who were guests of the Association.

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Fleming for his generous gesture in providing such am enjoyable evening of entertainment.
