SEASON AT WHAKATANE TO OPEN TOMORROW The new season of the Whakatane Amateur Athletic Club is to commence tomorrow with the Srst club day on the Whakatane Domain commencing 9 a.m. Races for point prizes will be held and the points trophies are to be presented at the end of the season. There will be events for school children and it is hoped that this competition will develop into one of the largest of the club days. All school children, both girls and boys, from 12 to 16 are asked to come along and join the club.

The senior events are to be contested later in the morning and there will be races for both men and women. Provision is also being made forcyclists to take part in the club day and if there are enough cyclists present steps will be taken to form an amateur athletic and cycling club.
