Political Correspondence No more political correspondence will be published after today until the election Ms over. Pohutukawa In Flower With the Pohutukawa trees about Whakatane now in flower there is a definite sign that summer is not far away. Most trees are out with the bright crimson blossom now and have considerably improved the appearance of the hills above the town. Pohutukawa trees are now well in bloom at Ohope. Cattle Films Films of cattle dealing in different parts of the world are to be screened at Whakatane tomorrow night by Mr G. Dawick for the Sout'e Bay of Plenty Jersey Cattle Breeders’ Club. The films, in colour, show the methods of farming cattle in the Jersey Islands, Denmark and America and should be of interest to farmers because of the number of Jersey cows kept in this country.
Boy Injured At Circus An 11 year old Maori boy, Rangi Waldon, received injuries to the head and shock when he hit the ground sharply during an act at Barton’s Circus on Wednesday night at Whakatane. The boy was one of those invited to take part in the act and was being swung round the tent in a loop on the end of a rope when it slipped, letting him fall. He was knocked unconscious. After being examined by a doctor he was taken to his home at the Heads.
