PACKED HOUSE?
Sir,—ln reply to Mr Frost: Of 64 settlers in the Ngakuru district, 41 attended Mr Santon's meeting Mr S. J. Brosnohan, who ■* chaired the meeting, told me the statement bv Mr Frost to the effect that the attendance was the smallest he had Wen during his 14 years residence in the district was not borne out by fact. Mr Brosnham also said that during the period mentioned by Mr Frost, he (Mr Brosnham) had attended and chaired meetings of less than half the number that Mr Santon addressed on November 7. Mr Brosnham further stated that at the conclusion of the meeting a spontaneous unanimous vote of thanks was accorded the candidate without a dissentient voice. Mr Santon stated that the seating provided in the hall that night was fully occupied. There may have been more available. Yours etc., ', V. I. ALLEN, .Hon. Sec, Whakatane Branch N.Z.L.P.
