GALATEA DOWNED BY UNITED

Meeting for the second time this season United defeated Galatea by 90 runs on the first' innings in a cricket match at Galatea on Saturday. The we.ather remained fine for the greater part of the game and the wicket was firm. Batting first United were not unduly worried by the home team’s bowling and had no difficulty in scoring 119 runs, jthe highest scorers being Spring 73, Knightbridge 27. The most accurate Galatea bowler was Dykstra, who claimed four wickets for 15. In their first innings Galatea were all out for 29, seven wickets falling to McKenzie for 13 runs. Galatea followed on with an improved innings and at stumps had lost two for 52, the top batsman being N. Goodhew, 32 not out.
