Swimming
INSTRUCTION TO COMMENCE SOON The new season’s instruction campaign of the Whakatane Swimming Club is to commence on November 26 at the high school baths when instructors will be on deck again to teach anyone, whatever age, how to swim and feel at home in ' the water. Last year the Club instructed. a very large number of children and some adults too and this year they plan to extend their operations. \ However, at present the club is suffering from a shortage of instructors and is again making an appeal for any person who is familiar with the sport to come along and offer their services.
Although the club does not guarantee to make a Johnny Weismuller out of anyone who receives their instruction they do promise that when you have been with them for a short while you will know the rudiments of how to float and how to move in the water should you ever get into difficulties. ‘ / ■< ■
