Two Whitebait—Grilled!
Whitebait was a new item on the menu to an American who stayed at a well known hotel on the West Coast. He sought information from the waitress, who told him that whitebait were small fish, and in answer to further questioning, very palatable, too. “Good,” he said, “I’ll try anything once. Grill me a couple, please.” •
