Large Crowd At Ohope Bonfire Dance

Over £4l was collected at the Guy Fawkes dance held at, Ohope on Saturday nigat by the Ohope Bonfire Committee and is to be used to provide fireworks on November 5 next year. The dance drew a very large crowd and there were some visitors from many parts of the Bay of Plenty. Music was provided by Harrison’s Orchestra, while songs were presented by Miss Dawn Murray, Ohope! and yodelling numbers by Miss Betty Hodge, Whakatane. Several novelty dances were held, the lucky gay gordon being won by Miss M. Coates and Mr_R. Syverston. The lucky spot valetta went to Miss L. Smith and Mr D. Spears while Miss M. Gardiner, Awakeri, 'and Mr R. Hunter, Edgecumbe, were successful in the lucky spot waltz. Mr R. Murray was M.C.
