False Alarm?
Although a call was received from the public telephone box in King Street advising of a fire in the Maori Boys’ Hostel in Hinemoa Street, no fire was discovered by the Whakatane Volunteer Fire Brigade, which went out in answer to the alarm at about 8 p.m. yesterday. It is still not l.nown whether there was a fire or not.
You can easily stop a woman in the middle of a sentence by turning off the radio. XXX There are two insults no human will endure: the assertion that he has no sense of humour and the doubly impertinent assertion that he has never known trouble.
