Survey Of Proposed Harbour Site

Extensive surveying of the proposed deep sea port at the Whakatane Heads is now being carried out by a gang of surveyers. When this work is finished it will be added to the already considerable data and information which is being collected by the consulting engineer to the Whakatane Harbour Board and originator of the scheme, Mr C. H. Brebner. He has already compiled much data that is required by the authorities and he will submit this for examination along with the information already supplied. Early this week Mr Brebner will take soundings and will examine the area where it is suggested that the harbour be built.
