Petrol Sale System To Remain Same
Although the 1947 order restricting Saturday morning petrol sales to emergency cases only has been revoked there is to be no change in sales procedure at Whakatane, according to the chairman of the Whakatane Retail Motor Trade Association, Mr H. Pearson, yesterday. Whakatane petrol resellers are to carry on as before with one emergency station open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9 a.m. to ,11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Restriction of sales on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and normal business hours still remain in force, while retailers still have to keep a register of urgent sales. i
Mr Pearson said that the Whakatane roster system used by the garages will be used in most towns although in some centres it is possible that garages will be open all day.
