Hospital Patients Increase Over Month

With 89 patients in the Whakatane District Hospital at the beginning of September there was a sharp increase during the month until at the beginning of October 102 patients remained in the hospital, it was stated by the medical superintendent, Dr E. T. Dawson, to the monthly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board. There were 157 admissions, 62 males and 95 females, and 136 discharges made up of 52 males and 84 females. There were eight deaths, five being females, and 30 births, males totalling 11.
