LOCAL PLAYERS WIN IN TOURNAMENT

Several local players were successful in winning a number of events in the annual Labour Day Tournament of the Whakatane Golf Club, which concluded on Monday. The championship was won by A. Cahir, Hamilton, while the Rangitaiki Cup went to M. Cameron, Te Puke. The runner-up was W. H. Luxton, Whakatane. Two Whakatane players, A. P. Smith and R. J. Pattison, were winner and runner-up respectively for the Ngatiawa Cup. Conditions were fine throughout with the course in good order. Results:—
