Kowhai Women's Institute

The October meeting of the Kowhai Institute was well attended, Mrs Cooper presiding. A further discussion took place concerning the Garden Party; and members were informed of Uhe various stalls and competitions which are to be held. The Roll Call “Sing> Say or Pay 3d” brought a good response, the funds benefiting considerably. Members from the Waimana Institute Drama and Glee Clubs entertained with a programme of songs, humorous recitations and a sketch which were thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Monthly competitions: Tea cosy, Miss Fife 1, Miss Richardson 2, Mrs Miller 3: biscuits, Mrs Whitworth 1; mystery parcel, Mrs Herbison 1. Hostesses for the evening were Mesdames Dippie, Carter, Hodges, Walker and Rowson and Miss McDiarmid.
