Labour Party Campaign The Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, will open the Labour Party’s election campaign with a public ad-, dress in the Town Hall, Dunedin, on Friday, October 23. 33 Horses Impounded Thirty-three horses and two cows were impounded from the Ruatoki and Matata districts of the Whakatane County last month. Driving and sale fees collected for these animals totalled £5/17/6. County Dog Licences During the past month 27 dogs were registered by Mr A. R. Carling, WJiakatane County Council in-? spector. The fees paid totalled £748 14s. The total number of dcgs registered in the County this vear is 2,655.' New Cricket Pavilion On Sunday the patron of the P. and T. Cricket Club, Mr S. S. Shapley, declared the new cricket pavilion at the Domain open. In doing so, he congratulated Club members on the hard work they. had done and the great job they had completed, especially mentioning Mr W. Whiteside, who had put in many hours, and Mrs Whiteside who had hand-made the Club banner which she hoisted as part of the ceremony.
