Partial Eclipse Of The Sun Tomorrow

A partial eclipse of the sun will occur tomorrow and should be visible over New Zealand, Eastern Australia, Tasman Sea and the Antarctic. The maximum phase should be seen in the Bay of Plenty at 8.39 a.m.. when a little more than half the "solar diameter will be obscured.

For those people who intend to watch the eclipse adequate protection should be given eyes as many have had their sight permanently impaired when observing previous eclipse. Smoked glass is not suitable.
