The Rey' Charles Roach has told his parishioners that his bare knees got him' into tiouble" in a Surrey hotel;. •>

The vicar, in his church magazine, said that he was out for an afternoon ramble with his wife. He was wearing shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. At the hotel, he was asked to put on his raincoat to avoid offending other guests but, he added, a woman guest "attended to her toilet" at table and "a monstrosity of a dog" was allowed to sit in the dining room. 'We often have males in shorts and open shirts in our church on Sundays and we welcome them."
