NO WHAKATANE HOUSE ALLOCATING COMMITTEE YET
The establishment of a State house allocating committee at Whakatane has still not been settled and, according to a letter received by the Whakatane Homeservicemen's Association through the Bay of Plenty member, Mr W. Sullivan, it is still under consideration by the Government. The Minister of State Advances, Mr Hackett, stated in the letter that the proposal had not been lost sight of. Investigations were still being carried out and he hoped to be able to give a definite decision soon. The letter was a reply to recent representations made by the Whakatane branch of the Association.
