New Land And Income Tax Office Opens At Hamilton

A branch office of the Land and Income Tax Department opened in Knox Street, Hamilton, on Monday. The Hamilton Tax district comprises the counties of Coromandel, Hauraki Plains, Kaitieke, Kawhia, Matamata, Ohinemuri, Ohura, Opotiki, Otorohanga, Piako, Raglan, Rotorua, Taumarunui, Taupo, Tauranga, Thames, Waikato, Waipa, Waiotomo and Whakatane. The files and offical records relating to income-tax and social ; security charge of persons residing in those counties have been transferred from Wellington to Hamilton and all returns and correspondence in connection therewith should in future be addressed to the Superintendent, Land and Income Tax Department, Private Bag, Hamilton. It is .’important to note, however, that all matters relating to landtax of persons in the counties mentioned, will continue to be dealt with at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Wellington, and not by the Hamilton Branch. The files of companies in the Hamilton Tax district are located in Auckland and all company taxation matters, including land-tax, will be dealt with by the Auckland Branch.
