Waimana Golf Club Has Successful Closing Day

The closing day of the Waimana Golf Club was held recently in ideal weather, after a most successful year. Several competitions were held during the day, the results were:—

Canadian Foursome, - Miss M. Boynton ad Jock Wardlaw. Men's one club match, Mr J. D. Wardlaw; women’s, Mrs C. Rawson. Long drive, men’s, J. D. Wardlaw; women’s long drive, Mrs Rawson. Men’s approach and putt, Ray Bell; women’s, Mrs Rawson. During the afternoon, Mr M. King, president, presented the tropies won by members during the past season.

Men: Championship, J. D. Wardlaw, runner-up, D. Bull. B Championship, L. Green, runner-up, Jock Wardlaw. C Championship, A. Tebbutt, runner-up, Doug Wardlaw. Club trophy, J. D. Wardlaw, Hughes Cup, L. Green. Morton Cup, Doug Merrie.

Women’s: A Championship, Mrs C. Rawson, runner-up, Mrs J. D. Wardlaw. B Championship, , Miss Monica Boynton, runner-up, Miss J. Stevens. Hughes Cup, Mrs C. Rawson, runner-up, Mrs M. King. Ringer competition, Mrs J. D. Wardlaw. Eclectic competition, Mrs Rawson. Hidden hole competition, B players, Miss D. Hughes.
