New Launchman For Whakatane Harbour

' A qualified shipping engineer, Mr William Walton Waugh, of Opotiki, has been appointed to the position of launchman-genefal hand for the Whakatane Harbour Board. Mr Waugh has had considerable engineering experience * and also has some knowledge of navigation. At present he is an engineer on the Northern Steamship Companyjs coastal’ vessel Waiotahi, which comes reguarly to Whakatane. ; Mr Waugh is a married man aged 37 and has had previous experience on fishing launches. He replaces the late Captain G. Carey, former harbourmaster.'
