Labour Candidate Meets Edgecumbe Party Supporters
A good muster of Labour supporters gathered at the Central < Theatre, Edgecumbe, on Thursday evening to meet Mr T. G. Santon, Labour candidate for the Bay of Plenty seat, and Mrs Santon. Mr J. Jespersen, secretary of the Rangitaiki Branch of the Labour Party, was in the chair and officially welcomed and introduced the guests. Mr Santon gave a very interesting and instructive address and proved himself a good speaker, capable of holding the interest of his audience. The organiser, Mr G. E. King, also addressed the meeting. Competition winners: Iced cake,./ Mrs Jespersen senr. 1; fountain pen, \ Mr Ken Williams 1; wine, Mrs Treioar 1. _
