YOUNG MATATA MAORI MISSING FROM HIS HOME
A 14 year old Maori boy, Johnny Tawa, also known as Pixen Tawa, has been missing from his home at Umuhika, near Matata, since the morning of September 16. Although his description has been circulated and broadcast over IYZ no definite information as to his whereabouts has yet been received by either the police or his parents. The boy, who is a pupil of the Whakatane District High School, left home on September 16 and has not been seen since. Although his actual age is only 14 he looks much older and is a full blooded Maori. He has black hair, brown eyes and natural teeth. When last seen he was wearing an army jacket, navy blue shirt and pullover and wearing working boots.
It is believed that he may endeavour to obtain employment on a dairy farm. If anyone can give any information as to his whereabouts they are asked to contact the police.
