ONE BAY BUS TRIP FROM WHAKATANE TO WELLINGTON
A through bus connection from Whakatane to Wellington can now be made by the Railway Road Ser vices two days a week, Tuesday and Thursday. On these days intending passengers may catch the early car for Auckland, which leaves Whakatane at 7.40 a.m., and connect with the Rotorua-Welling-ton bus. This does the journey in one day, leaving Rotorua at 11.15 a.m. and arriving at Wellington at 10.10 p.m. The service does not connect with the inter-island ferry steamers. To catch these services Whakatane passengers may catch the bus to Rotorua at 4.30 p.m., stay the night and travel on the next day by a bus which leaves for Wellington at 8 a.m. and arrives at 6.40 p.m. This is a daily service. Passengers may travel back from Wellington daily to Rotorua, departing at 8 a.m. and arriving at Rotorua at 6.45 p.m. There is no through connection from this service to Whakatane until the following day.
