Edgecumbe W.I. Makes Feather Posies

An interesting demonstration of feather posy making was given by Mrs McQueen to the monthly meeting of the Edgecumbe Women’s Institute. So interested were members that it was decided that individual posies would be displayed at next month’s garden party for a prize donated by Mrs McQueen for the best made article. Mrs H. Carter was in the chair and remits for the bi-annual Council meeting were discussed and Mesaames I. B. Spiers and S. Hodgson were elected delegates.

One new member, Mrs A. Gibson, was welcomed. Mrs Carter is to pack this month’s food parcel for the link in England. A musical competition was won by Mrs S. Wilson. Competition winners:—

Best flower, Mrs J. Black 1, Mrs Parson 2, Mrs Carter 3; best vegetable, Mrs S. Wilson 1, Mrs A. Sim 2; vase of flowers, Mrs J. C. Tunnicliffe 1, Miss M. Black 2, Mrs S. Wilson 3; peg bag, Mrs W. Goldsmith 1, Mrs S. Martin 2, Mrs Tunnicliffe 3; music folder, Mrs Carter 1.
