No Insurance Cover For Fire Brigade

Because of the new Workers’ Compensation Act the members '.if the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Coy. volunteer fire brigade are not now covered by any insurance when attending a fire away from the Company’s property, it was revealed to the annual meeting of the Edgecumbe Progressive Association. This caused some concern and in the resulting discussion it was decided to set up a committee to investigate the position fully as it was felt that the men should be covered by some insurance. The committee formed was Messrs P. Bridger, D. C. Meikle, F. Villis, superintendent of the brigade, T. G. Roberts, deputy brigade superintendent, and S. C. Martin.
