WAINUI Y I .C. DEFEATS WAIMANA In the return match against Waimana the Wainui Young Farmers’ Club defeated the visitors by six points to nil. The new field was in good order for the game and both teams threw the ball about a good deal. Wainui’s first points came when Shadbolt kicked a good penalty. Shadbolt added another three points for his side when from a line out the ball came to Codlin, Wainui’s half back, Codlin passed out to Shadbolt who potted a. splendid field goal from just inside the 25.

The game was watched by a large crowd. After the match, the referee, Mr H. - White, commented on the fine spirit with which it was played. The following players will represent Wainui in their match against Opotiki to be played at Wainui on Sunday:— Fullback, B. Crawford; threequarters, J. Crawford, C. Burke, Aromoana; five-eighths, Shadbolt, Edwards; half back, Codlin; front row, K. Martin, Ruwhiu, Herdman; middle row, Dewes, D. Burke, White, Barry; back row, T. Martin. Reserves: Backs, M. Burke, Sam Collier; forwards Katae S. Collier.
