Council Refuses Building Permit For The Pa Area
Any future buildings in the borough erected for living quarters must comply with the borough bylaws it was agreed at this week’s meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council. The discussion rose from an application by a resident in the Pa area asking for a permit to extend a small bach in which he is living at present. The application was'turned down because the Council considered it did hot comply with the building by-laws. The. building inspectpr, Mr F. W. Lysaght, stated that the present building was a very poor affair and a definite eyesore. If the proposed structure was to be anything similar it,.would spoil the look of the whole area.
