CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS DECIDED In a B grade women’s hockey semi-final played on Sunday Richmond defeated Huimai 2—l and so won the section. In the final they defeated Poroporo I—o and thereby won the women’s B grade championship. In the men’s B grade final Poroporo had a clear win of 6—2 over Te Teko. The final of the women’s A grade championship resulted in a close win for Te Teko over Poroporo 3—2. ■ In the Pokai Shield matih held at Matata Richmond (holders) were defeated by Wanderers (challengers) 4—l. TE TEKO PLAYS POROPORO FOR WILSON CUP The Wilson Cup game between A grade women’s teams, like the Pokai Shield, is played for annually between the leaders of this year’s competition and last year’s winners. Te Teko, this year’s winners, play Poroporo at Poroporo on Sunday at 1.15 p.m. and the winners of this game will hold the cup, and withstand a challenge from the winning team of the Central Matatua Association’s competition. KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT FOR JUNIORS A junior knockout hockey tournament will be held at Edgecum.be on Saturday commencing at 12.30 p.m. This will be an open seveh a side tournament and all clubs are asked to .field as many teams as possible and so ensure the juniors a successful wind-up of their first year’s hockey. *
