Mr and Mrs A. Dowell, Whaka 1 - tane, have left on a visit to Napier.
After a short holiday at Auckland Miss B. Green, returned to Edgecumbe on Sunday.
Miss A. Bathe has returned to Whakatane after a short holiday at Auckland.
Mrs C. Bathe, Whakatane, returned from a brief holiday ( at Auckland on Sunday.
Mr J. C. Adams, Transport Officer to Federated Farmers, has been appointed to the Transport Co-? ordination Committee.
Misses Collen Challis and Sadie Simpson, who have been holidaying with Mr and Mrs F. H. Challis, Manawahej have now returned to Auckland.
Senior Sergeant F. Fhller, Wellington, is expected to arrive at Whakatane on - September 10 where he will be in charge of the Whakatane police station.
Constable E. D. Jones, formerly of Gisborne, commenced his duties at the Whakatane police station on Saturday, replacing Constable V. Tait, who had been relieving for the past two months but returned to Gisborne last week.
