Eats Sweets For A Living

For nearly fifty years Mr Peter Laurey has been employed as a candy-taster for a big firm of sweet manufacturers in New York City. His task is to pass every batch of candy produced in the firm’s factory before it goes to the shops for sale to the public. Mr Laurey spends every morning and every afternoon tasting candy. You would think he would grow tired of it, but he never does. He says he likes to have a dish of candy handy when Me is reading or listening to the radio at home in the evening. He is also an expert on the correct flavour of such confections as caramels, toffee, peppermints, and lollipops.
