GOOD MUSTER AT ARCHERY CLUB MEETING

A general meeting of the Whakatane Archery Club was held in the County Council Chambers on 'Wednesday evening. A good muster of members were present and rules were revised and general business was discussed. Correspondence from the New Zealand Archery Association, Hamilton Archery Club, Whakatane Domain Board and sports firms was dealt with

Several new members were nominated and accepted. Jt was agreed that new members had to be nomand passed by the committee.

The question of equipment was again gone into and members were advised that ample suppli-s would be available within a few weeks. It was decided to increase the target fees to 1/6 per shoot.

The Social Committee is to confer on the matter of raising funds for the club, and for the committee to get trophies for all types of shoots. '

The offer of Mrs N. Henry to donate a Shield to be shot for on a handicap basis each month and won by the member with the best aggregate score for the year was gratefully accepted. Election of'new officers resulted:

Deputy Field Captains, Messrs G. A. Wiggins, J. Dahl; Lady Paramount, Mrs J. Hunter; Deputy Paramount, Mrs N. Henry. No nominations were forthcoming for the position of publicity officer, so it was decided to ask for volunteers.

Votes of thanks were accorded to the Whakatane Domain Board for permission to hold shoots on the old football ground, to Mr Dickson fqr supplying target frames and easels, to Mr F. Hunter and Mrs J. Hunter for painting target faces, to Mr E. Biggins for use of her property for past outdoor shoots, and to Messrs G. A. Wiggins and R. Stokes for transporting equipment.
