New Cup Presented To Badminton Club

On a recent club night in the Winter Show Building Mr J. D. Rivett presented the Whakatane Badminton Club with a handsome silver cup for competition by clubs in the Whakatane County. In thanking him the president, Mr H. Morgan, said that he was sure it would achieve its object of raising the standard of play in the district and of stimulating interest in the game. This generous gesture will be greatly' appreciated by all players. Mr Rivett was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. For a match against St John’s Badminton Club in the Winter Show Building on Tuesday of next week the following players have been selected to represent the Whaka-i tane Club: — Women, Mesdames Thompson and Morgan, Misses Carter, Hall, Rivett and Wells. Men, E. Wilson, H. Morgan, W. Rutherford, H. Mahy, B. Pope and B. Mole.
